Electric Courtship Songs

Later on the same night I went to listen to John Maeda’s “Simplicity” lecture, I incidently stumbled upon Frederik De Wilde performing in his installation EOD Electric Courtship Songs in Mediaruimte. Electric Courtship Songs is a sound installation that researches the interaction between various media, Max/MSP/Jitter and a species of electrical fish. The title refers to the male fish who ‘sing’ electrical wooing songs to their potential partners.
